In historical terms, the portuguese mould industry appeared in the second decade of the XX century, from the necessity of metallic moulds for the shaping of glass.

From glass, this industry grew for moulds destined to plastic materials, due to a new technical process – injection moulds fabrication. An all-new universe of moulds applications was found (from car industry to aeronautical, from the electrical appliances to toys).

Throughout the years the mould industry has invested greatly in the qualification and specialisation of professional technicians, as well as in the creation of specific structures, which regulate and assure this growth.
